Paul W. Abrahams with Karl Berry and Kathryn Hargreaves
Paul W. Abrahams, Consulting Computer Scientist, is past president of the Association for Computing Machinery. He holds a Sc.D. in mathematics from M.I.T. and was formerly a professsor at New York Univeristy. Abrahams is well known in the computing community for his lucid writing sytle. Kathryn A. Hargreaves and Karl Berry research digital typography at UMass Boston and produce digital typefaces for the Free Software Foundation. Hargreaves has worked in the TeX research group at UC Berkeley, and Berry has installed and maintained TeX at a number of universities. Hargreaves is the illustrator of the impatient rabbit pictured throughout this book.
