Many times while plotting the course to develop a new product this phrase has come to mind, a gentle reminder of the many reasons why Blue Sky continues to be a small, pioneering, adventurous company navigating the perilous waters of software development.

Bigger companies, financially richer companies, recognizable in the marketplace companies with greater resources than our company have both enriched and impoverished their customers choices according to the bottom line dicta. Easier to use products with greater market appeal allow many of these companies to continue providing for the mass markets. They are bound on being the first, the biggest, the best known.

At the other end of the spectrum stands Blue Sky TeX Systems.

We have created and will continue to create products for those who find joy in discovering their own unsuspected potential by using tools that demand both knowledge and respect for the craft and the art that uses them. We provide programs that turn typesetting into an art form while using science as its form of expression. We have designed programs that aid in the creation of exquisitely presented mathematical equations, adding elegance to form and function.

And we have done all this as a very small company, with the added blessing of having our sights set far ahead of our known capabilities only to find out that our potential capabilities were both a joy and a trial to discover, allowing us to share the triumph of realization with those of like mind and vision: our customers.

We respect the creative process and stand in awe at what simple tools can do. From the chisel to the keyboard there is enough art out there to be found inside the human mind that the importance of being first at anything takes its proper place when recognizing what we have known and our customers have confirmed: you don't need to be the first when you are aiming at being the best. This continues to be our aim.
